Seller terms

The agreement between Mallket and a seller. Please read it before you apply.

These terms are being finalised with legal advice and may change. We will tell you about important changes.

Mallket Nepal (mallketnepal.com) is run by Mallket Nepal. In this page "we" and "Mallket" mean that business.

Applying to sell means you accept these terms. Mallket can update them; changes to fees apply only to orders placed after the change, and we will tell you first.

Who can sell

A business (micro, cottage, small or medium) that can show a valid PAN/VAT number and, where it applies, a registration number. Everything you tell us must be true and up to date.
Local producers sell their own products. Retail stores sell their own stock, local or imported, and may also stock Mallket-branded products.
Mallket decides whether to approve an application. If we reject an application or suspend a store, we give a written reason.

Your shop on the MB page

The shop address, opening hours, shop phone and Google Maps link you add are public, so customers can visit you. Keep them accurate and use a business phone. Mallket may hide details that are wrong or misleading.

Your products

Descriptions, prices, photos and the Made in Nepal or Imported label must be correct. Use only photos you have the right to use.
Products must be legal in Nepal. No counterfeit goods and nothing the law forbids.
New products and important changes are checked before they go on sale. Trusted sellers get faster approval, but we still make spot checks, and we may take a product down. If we reject a product we write the reason.
Keep your stock numbers accurate. When a customer places an order, the items are taken out of your stock at once.

Orders and parcels

When an order is paid (or placed, for Cash on Delivery), you see the items to pack and the customer's district. You do not receive the customer's name, phone, address or email, and you must not try to contact customers outside Mallket.
Pack each parcel carefully and mark it ready. Mallket collects it from you and makes one delivery per order.
Mallket decides on cancellations and returns and tells you the reason.

Fees

Commission: on products you sell yourself, Mallket keeps a commission. The standard rate is 10% of the product price, unless we agree another rate with you in writing.
Store fee: if you are a retail store and sell a Mallket-branded product, you earn a fee. The standard rate is 10% of the sale.
The rate for each sale is fixed when the order is placed. Your Seller Centre shows the rates and every sale in your statement.
You are responsible for your own taxes, including VAT where it applies.

Getting paid

Mallket collects the customer's payment. Your money shows as pending until the order is delivered and 7 days have passed with no open return request, then it becomes available.
Mallket prepares a payout list each week and pays available balances into the bank account you gave us. Balances under NPR 500 wait for the next week. We pay only active stores with complete bank details.
If a return is approved, your balance is reduced by that item's share, even if it was already paid out (we deduct it from future payouts).
Check your bank details. Mallket is not responsible for a payout sent to wrong details that you provided.

Reviews and customers

Customers can review your products. You may reply publicly; keep replies polite and honest. Mallket may hide reviews that break the rules.

Suspension and ending

We may suspend or close a store for false information, rule-breaking, repeated problems with orders or products, or if the law requires. We write the reason.
You may stop selling at any time. We settle any money owed to you after open orders and return periods are finished. We may keep money back to cover refunds or amounts you owe us.

Using your content

You allow Mallket to show your store name, product descriptions and photos on the site and to use them to promote Mallket. You keep your rights to them.

Customer information

Use any customer information you see (like a district) only to fulfil the order, and do not share it.

Limits and law

To the extent the law allows, Mallket is not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, and these terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Questions: the contact details on our Contact us page.
